Role Overview

The Demi Chef will be responsible for preparing and presenting food for a la carte, buffet, and pastry services while maintaining high standards. The role includes ensuring kitchen cleanliness, safety, and organization, supervising operations in the absence of senior chefs, collaborating across departments to enhance guest satisfaction, and staying current with food trends and menu innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dishes for various dining services to high-quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety protocols, and orderliness in the kitchen at all times.
• Lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive and Sous Chefs.
• Work closely with other departments to boost the overall guest experience.
• Keep updated with contemporary food trends and contribute creatively to menu development.

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ experience in a 4–5-star hotel or high-end restaurant, with a strong background in pastries, cakes, and breads (including sourdough and cultural/seasonal specialties).
• Formal qualification in culinary arts with excellent technical skills.
• Creative, driven, and passionate about the culinary craft.
• Capable of independently managing graveyard shifts, overseeing food prep and service.
• Able to follow detailed instructions for mise en place and food preparation.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including mornings and evenings.
