Role Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), your core responsibility will be to provide personalized one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in achieving independence and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Duties

• Assist clients with essential daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation.
• Encourage and facilitate active involvement in social and community engagements including shopping and events.
• Support individuals in setting and reaching personal goals, acknowledging milestones along the way.
• Empower clients by fostering choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of care activities and client progress.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistent and high-quality support.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Successful completion of background checks and required training programs.
• Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
• Commitment to working safely and respectfully in clients’ homes and community settings.
• Demonstrated compassion, dependability, and dedication to making a positive impact.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or autism, including familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans and Plans of Service and Supports.
• Knowledge of foundational behavior-support techniques such as redirection, visual cues, and environmental adjustments.
