Position Overview
This role, based in Ireland and offered by a partner company, presents an exciting opportunity to lead and expand a high-performing sales team focused on the French and BeNeLux regions. The District Sales Manager will be instrumental in developing regional sales strategies, building strong customer connections, and supporting life sciences organizations by delivering innovative research solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute district business plans aligned with revenue goals and strategic aims.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the regional sales team to reach performance targets and expand customer base.
- Set territory sales quotas and develop quarterly and annual sales strategies.
- Track and manage sales results, customer demand, and district expenses effectively.
- Provide clear guidance, constructive feedback, and professional development to the sales team when necessary.
- Develop and oversee strategic sales plans across the territory.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of next-generation sequencing and multiomics markets to inform sales approaches.
- Foster a culture of accountability and high achievement within the sales organization.
- Recruit, train, retain, and manage sales personnel to enhance regional team strength.
- Coordinate technical, sales, and administrative training initiatives for team members.
- Utilize sales management tools to monitor performance and deliver ongoing coaching.
- Work closely with Marketing, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of strategies.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, sales forecasts, and reporting of sales activities.
- Ensure outstanding customer experiences by addressing needs and continually refining processes.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in life sciences, laboratory environments, sales, or related customer-facing roles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing scientific or technical sales teams.
- Strong knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, and next-generation sequencing technologies.
- Proven track record in creating strategic sales plans and expanding key accounts.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities.
- Outstanding skills in presentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to cultivate trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative approach suitable for team-oriented sales environments.
- High commercial drive and motivation to meet ambitious sales targets.
- Analytical skills to assess market opportunities and develop effective strategies.
- Fluency in French and English mandatory; additional languages are advantageous.
- Willingness to undertake up to 50% domestic and international travel.
- Flexibility to work varied hours to support customer requirements.
