Engineering Manager - Remote

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the development of high-quality foundational large language models. This remote, full-time position involves leading large teams focused on supervised fine tuning and reinforcement learning driven by human feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical teams of over 20 developers specializing in Python, JavaScript, Java, and other programming languages to successfully accomplish development tasks.
• Collaborate closely with research clients to ensure their requirements and expectations are met.
• Implement strict review mechanisms to maintain the highest data set quality standards.
• Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring smooth transitions from initiation phases to stable operational states with full responsibility for deliverables.
• Identify and apply improvements that raise the coding quality across the team.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in engineering management roles.
• Proven track record of managing large technical teams focused on delivery.
• Proficiency in Python or Java and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated hands-on capability to address and resolve quality issues in codebases.
• Strong leadership qualities with effective people management and team motivation skills.
