Job Overview
The Engineering Manager leads Purity Gas’s engineering team ensuring the design, release, construction, modification, and support of nitrogen generation systems follow controlled and scalable technical processes. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role guides the engineering team, manages quality of engineering outputs, controls drawing and bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, oversees engineering change management, and collaborates cross-functionally with departments such as Production, Quality Assurance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Field Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily engineering operations including workload management, prioritization, team communication, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Assign engineering tasks based on customer commitments, production timelines, and risk assessments including technical, quality, and safety.
- Mentor and hold accountable engineers, designers, and technologists ensuring clear visibility of project progress and technical issues.
- Conduct structured meetings such as engineering design and workload reviews to maintain transparency and prioritize tasks.
- Manage engineering change controls including ECRs, ECOs, BOM and drawing revisions, production changes, and approvals, ensuring all changes are thoroughly reviewed for safety, cost, schedule, procurement, quality, and customer impact.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation supporting procurement, testing, commissioning, and service operations.
- Serve as the main technical escalation point for production issues, supporting cross-functional teams and assisting with customer-driven changes.
- Drive the transition towards standardized and modular system designs enhancing manufacturability, product consistency, and production scalability.
- Develop and monitor engineering KPIs to identify bottlenecks and areas for continuous improvement and error reduction.
- Promote a culture of accountability, technical discipline, manufacturing awareness, and collaboration between Engineering and other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Engineering or related industrial technology/operations discipline.
- More than 7 years’ experience in engineered industrial equipment or modular manufacturing, including 3-5 years in leadership, team lead, or technical project management roles.
- Proven success managing project lifecycles, balancing workloads, and cross-department coordination.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to manage team dynamics, collaborate across departments, and liaise professionally with external clients.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
