Financial Director

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and strategic Financial Director to direct our financial management, corporate planning, and financial strategy to support sustained business growth and ensure long-term organizational success. This leadership position entails managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, compliance, and financial controls to maintain robust financial health and guide informed decisions.

The Financial Director will collaborate with senior executives, department leaders, auditors, financial institutions, investors, and key parties to craft financial strategies, optimize resource use, reinforce internal controls, and deliver insightful analyses aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate must demonstrate outstanding leadership, commercial insight, analytical skill, and strategic thought, driving financial excellence throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and sustained growth.
• Offer strategic financial guidance and counsel senior management on performance and planning.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and resource distribution activities.
• Supervise financial reporting, management accounting, and executive dashboard preparation.
• Track financial performance and propose measures to enhance profitability and efficiency.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, treasury operations, and optimize working capital.
• Develop and uphold strong financial controls, governance policies, and internal systems.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, taxation, regulations, and company policies.
• Head financial risk management initiatives related to operations and investments.
• Analyze capital investments, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic opportunities financially.
• Champion finance transformation through automation, digital tools, and process improvements.
• Create financial models, business cases, and investment assessments to aid executive decisions.
• Monitor KPIs and provide financial insights to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with business units to improve financial discipline, cost controls, and performance.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, investors, regulators, and financial partners.
• Prepare financial documentation and strategic presentations for executive committees.
• Oversee funding strategies, capital management, and corporate financing activities as appropriate.
• Mentor finance teams fostering accountability, cooperation, and continuous development.
• Support business expansion and transformational growth projects.
• Maintain financial transparency, integrity, and operational excellence in all finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
• Advanced qualifications like Master's degree, MBA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, CMA, or similar certifications preferred.
• Deep expertise in corporate finance, financial management, accounting standards, reporting, and strategic planning.
• Strong capabilities in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and performance tracking.
• Thorough knowledge of taxation, corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and financial legislation.
• Commercially astute with a capacity to synchronize financial strategy with organizational objectives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Advanced analytical skills in financial modeling, strategic planning, and executive decision-making.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide finance projects and influencing cross-functional leadership.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, financial software, business intelligence tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong project, organizational, and change management skills.
