About the Role
As General Manager based in Auckland, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of restaurants, ensuring operational efficiency, strong financial results, employee engagement, and adherence to compliance. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will lead teams across multiple locations, driving sales growth, profitability, and outstanding customer experiences while upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and inspiration to Restaurant Managers and Food & Beverage Managers at various sites.
- Develop and retain high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Foster an inclusive and accountable culture focused on operational excellence and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on talent acquisition, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Assume full responsibility for P&L across all locations, ensuring revenue growth and cost control.
- Monitor labour, inventory, and operating expenses to meet budgets and business objectives.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, landlords, airports, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain consistent adherence to brand standards, food safety, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead regular operational audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Promote health, safety, and sustainability practices throughout all restaurants.
- Support the adoption of new systems, technologies, and innovation initiatives to drive business improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in multi-site hospitality, food and beverage, restaurant, or retail operations leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop engaged, high-performing teams.
- Strong financial acumen managing profit and loss, budgets, labour costs, and operational metrics.
- Excellent skills in developing stakeholder relationships, including clients, suppliers, landlords, and internal teams.
- Proven capability to deliver results in dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Knowledgeable in operational best practices, compliance standards, food safety, and workplace health and safety.
- Mandatory holding of RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certifications.
- Preferably qualified in Business, Hospitality Management, or related fields.
