Role Overview
We are looking for an M&A Associate to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team on a full-time, remote, and permanent basis. This role involves supporting all phases of the acquisition process, including research, evaluation, due diligence, and deal execution, and working with a significant volume of live opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target software companies that align with our acquisition criteria and key performance benchmarks.
- Design and carry out targeted outreach campaigns through emails and calls, continuously experimenting with new business development approaches while managing a high deal flow.
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential acquisition candidates and sell-side investment banking partners.
- Lead preliminary assessments of acquisition targets, including initial business and financial due diligence and risk/opportunity analysis.
- Maintain and update a robust pipeline of deals, collaborating with a motivated and entrepreneurial team.
- Conduct comprehensive industry and market research to spot trends and new acquisition prospects.
- Review and synthesize investment materials into clear, actionable insights and presentations.
- Drive acquisition deals forward autonomously, managing deal scope and momentum through the complete lifecycle from sourcing to closure.
- Effectively prioritize and delegate tasks based on deal timelines and strategic goals.
- Provide ad hoc analytical and operational assistance to team members.
- Work cross-functionally to support data gathering, due diligence, team alignment, and successful transaction completion.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development.
- Demonstrated experience specifically with software industry M&A transactions.
- Excellent academic achievements from a recognized top-tier institution.
- Preferably holds an undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline.
- Professional demeanor with confidence in engaging senior executives at the C-suite level.
- Highly proactive, self-motivated, with strong skills in sales and communication.
- Proven interpersonal skills and leadership potential.
- Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and financial modeling techniques.
- Comprehensive understanding of software business models and M&A process stages.
- Advanced analytical proficiency, including pattern recognition and expert-level Excel skills.
