Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to advancing autonomy across aerial, ground, and underwater systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing state-of-the-art ML models for tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, SLAM, and reinforcement learning, while proficiently handling multimodal sensor data like camera, lidar, and radar. Fluency in Python or C++ and familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow are essential. A background in computer vision, robotics, or motion planning is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative machine learning solutions for autonomous systems, including object detection, semantic segmentation, behavioral cloning, and reinforcement learning.
• Create algorithms for sensor fusion, perception, SLAM, environmental analysis, motion prediction, mission, and motion planning modules.
• Process and utilize data from diverse sensors including cameras, lidar, and radar.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and clients to identify needs and requirements.
• Deploy machine learning models to real-world autonomous products operating in air, on land, or sea.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional or academic experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
• A minimum of 1 year of pertinent work experience involving software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with ML libraries or platforms like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, Theano, Scikit-Learn, or MLlib for production environments.
• Strong understanding of machine learning and computer vision domains.
• Familiarity with software continuous integration processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical fields.
• Experience in computer vision, applied robotics, classification, pattern recognition, or reinforcement learning.
• Competence in fundamental robotic functions such as sensor fusion, perception, SLAM, environmental modeling, motion prediction, behavioral cloning, and mission or motion planning.
