About the Role
The Apple Services Engineering Growth and Commerce Intelligence Team is seeking a skilled software engineer to develop advanced machine learning features for Apple's innovative devices and platforms. This team plays a crucial role within the Apple ecosystem, supporting millions of users and billions of transactions globally across numerous countries and languages. The primary goal is to deliver an outstanding personalized experience for Apple customers worldwide.
Job Description
The position involves the design, development, and upkeep of core personalization components used by millions of customers internationally. The engineer will be tasked with implementing the latest personalization innovations at scale. This role focuses on pioneering methods to help users discover content within Apple’s expanding catalog on various platforms and devices.
Required Qualifications
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree plus over two years of relevant experience.
- Strong expertise in distributed computing, micro-services architecture, and server-side technologies.
- Experience in building extensive machine learning infrastructure, including knowledge of information retrieval and ranking algorithms.
- Hands-on experience in developing machine learning solutions.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, and Spark.
- Experience with cloud-native application deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of A/B testing methodologies and data-driven product development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for independent work or small team collaboration.
- Enthusiasm for creating high-quality user experiences with close attention to detail.
