Manager/ Assistant Manager - Media Relations

About the Role

You will join the Communications and Engagement Division of the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), focusing on strategizing, creating, and implementing communication and outreach plans that support the Ministry's vision of fostering a thriving digital future.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and carry out effective media communication strategies that promote MDDI's agenda of building a secure and vibrant digital landscape in Singapore.
• Influence public perception and enhance understanding of policies aimed at creating a safer, more inclusive digital society.
• Formulate and execute impactful media communication plans, including crafting narratives and key messages tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
• Prepare media content, handle media inquiries and interview coordination, manage staffing for media events, and oversee communications during issues and crises.
• Assess the outcomes of media campaigns to verify the success and impact of the media plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and amplify the reach and effectiveness of MDDI’s policies and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong understanding of current issues, policies, and affairs, including keen sensitivity to political factors.
• Excellent analytical thinking and project management capabilities.
• Proficient writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policies and technical subjects clearly and accessibly to the public.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, working independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience in media relations is advantageous; however, fresh graduates with relevant education, particularly in communications, are encouraged to apply.
