MEP & Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor (F&B Operations)

Overview

We are looking to hire an experienced MEP & Refrigeration Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities for engineering systems within central kitchens, restaurants, production units, and cold storage facilities in Doha, Qatar. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of MEP, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and utility systems by leading a skilled team and performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, all while adhering to food safety standards and operational efficiency.

Key Duties

• Manage and supervise all preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks across various operational sites.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on MEP components, HVAC systems, commercial refrigeration units, cold rooms, walk-in chillers and freezers, and commercial kitchen appliances.
• Establish and implement preventive maintenance plans to enhance equipment uptime and reliability.
• Lead maintenance technicians by assigning responsibilities and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Analyze equipment performance issues, identify root causes of failures, and suggest appropriate repairs or equipment replacement.
• Collaborate with external service providers and manage maintenance supplies, spare parts inventory, and documentation of service records.
• Ensure adherence to HACCP, food safety standards, electrical safety norms, lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company health, safety, and environment policies.
• Generate maintenance reports, key performance indicators, and keep thorough engineering documentation.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC & Refrigeration, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications such as HVAC, Refrigeration, MEP, Electrical Safety, HACCP, IOSH, NEBOSH, or ISO standards are advantageous.
• Between 8 to 12 years of experience in engineering maintenance, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position within food manufacturing, central kitchens, catering, restaurant chains, hotels, bakeries, or hypermarkets.
• Previous experience working in GCC or specifically Qatar is highly favored.

Technical Skills

• Comprehensive hands-on expertise in MEP components including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, pumps, and utilities.
• Proficient in HVAC systems such as Split, Package, VRF, AHU, FCU, and ventilation units.
• Experienced with commercial refrigeration equipment including cold rooms, walk-in chillers and freezers, display chillers, and refrigeration control systems.
• Knowledgeable in commercial kitchen machinery used for cooking, baking, food preparation, and dishwashing.
• Skilled in preventive maintenance techniques, fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• Ability to produce detailed reports and use Microsoft Office effectively.
• Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced food and beverage environment.

Additional Details

• Language: Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• Location: Doha, Qatar.
• Compensation: Monthly salary ranging between QAR 5000 to 6000 dependent on experience.
