Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. This full-time, permanent role offers a clean and safe working environment that encourages professional development. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting manufacturing and packaging machinery.
Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, plus every fourth Saturday, from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Weekend hours are compensated at 1.5 times the standard rate.
Compensation: $47.96 per hour, with additional pay premiums for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on designated equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment during breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Install and modify machinery components as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct repairs on parts within the workshop environment.
- Operate effectively in a food processing environment while adhering to all food safety protocols.
- Comply with company safety policies and operational standards at all times.
- Collaborate with other trade professionals to complete project assignments efficiently.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Millwright license with proven experience working on process equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Prior experience in the food industry or high-speed packaging environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Welding experience considered an asset.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving.
- Additional experience with boilers, refrigeration, air handling systems, electrical work, and PLC systems is a plus.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating high motivation and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Reliable with a consistent attendance and solid safety record.
- Willingness to work afternoon and night shifts, weekends, overtime, and adapt to shift changes at short notice when required.
