We are currently seeking a permanent Optical Assistant to join our Retinal Technicians team based in Trim, County Meath, Ireland, and surrounding areas. This role involves capturing eye photographs to detect retinal damage caused by diabetes-related complications.

Team and Support Structure

You will work within the national program alongside experienced Senior Diabetic Retinal Technicians, Team Leaders, and clinical leadership. Our professional administration and management team provide ongoing support, ensuring a collaborative environment where expertise in retinopathy is continually developed.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to various health centers and clinics in the Meath vicinity using a company vehicle.
• Conduct eye photography sessions to assist in the identification of diabetic retinopathy and related retinal conditions.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, technical excellence, and professional integrity in line with the program’s objectives.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience is not necessary; full training will be provided.
• Holders of a clean Irish driving license.
• Strong commitment to customer care and delivering positive patient outcomes.
• Proficiency with IT tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively with good problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-motivated work ethic, demonstrating initiative especially when working independently after training.
• Excellent communication skills across various levels of interaction.
