Phlebotomist Level 1

About the Role

Mediclinic Middle East is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Level 1 to join their team at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The position's primary function is to safely and accurately collect blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing and donation while adhering to professional and regulatory standards.

Key Duties

• Collect specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis to support overall lab operations.
• Assist with administrative and technical tasks essential for smooth laboratory functioning.
• Carry out a range of routine and complex blood collection procedures following professional guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Prepare reagents necessary for specimen collection processes.
• Offer training and support to fellow team members.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new specimen acquisition and handling techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Laboratory Medicine Technology.
• Phlebotomy certification valid in the applicant's home country and/or country of residence.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of three years professional experience, including at least two years as a phlebotomist in an acute care hospital setting.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with laboratory governance and accreditation standards.
• Experience with health information systems.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
