P&M Assistant

Role Overview

The P&M Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of plant equipment and machinery. This position involves handling minor mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and providing immediate troubleshooting to reduce downtime. Coordination with internal maintenance teams and external OEM service providers for major repairs is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and address minor issues involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of plant machinery.
• Execute preliminary troubleshooting for equipment failures to curtail production interruptions.
• Liaise effectively with maintenance personnel and OEM service teams when major repairs are necessary.
• Organize and supervise daily, weekly, and preventive maintenance tasks according to the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain detailed logs covering breakdowns, repair work, and corrective measures applied.
• Lead and manage operators, technicians, helpers, and subcontracted workers efficiently.
• Assign duties and manage work shifts aligning with production demands.
• Ensure that all operators receive proper training and demonstrate competency in operating assigned machinery.
• Promote discipline, monitor attendance, and facilitate a productive work environment on site.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings focusing on plant and machinery operation.
• Spot unsafe behaviors and hazardous conditions on site and implement corrective interventions.
• Guarantee adherence to legal, environmental, and corporate safety policies and standards.
