Role overview
We are recruiting for a Pre-Press Artworker to join a compact, friendly team in Rotherham, South Yorkshire (S60). The business specialises in large and wide format print for the construction and events industries and has been growing steadily for seven years. The company culture is described as calm and balanced, with a strong preference for maintaining a healthy work-life rhythm.
Package and working pattern
The salary for this position is £27,000 to £30,000 per year, with a profit-related bonus. Additional benefits include Bupa healthcare after the qualifying period, 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and quarterly as well as annual bonuses linked to team targets. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekends, no night shifts, and no overtime.
What you will do
This role combines artwork production with customer-facing sales support. You will create strong design concepts for customer projects and sales opportunities, prepare artwork that is fully ready for print production, and guide customers on layout, materials, finishes, and branding choices to help them achieve the best result. You will also handle inbound enquiries, assess leads, and help turn opportunities into confirmed orders.
Customer and sales responsibilities
The position involves speaking directly with customers in a consultative way to understand their requirements, budgets, timing, and project goals. You will follow up on quotations, approvals, and open enquiries to improve conversion, while also building positive relationships that support repeat work and referrals.
Experience and attributes
The employer is looking for someone who has already worked in a customer-facing sales role and is comfortable spotting opportunities and closing sales. You should have strong design skills, experience producing print-ready artwork, and a confident communication style. Strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several enquiries, projects, and deadlines at once are also important. Commercial awareness is needed so you can balance client needs with business profitability.
Additional information
This opportunity is suited to someone who is technically capable, happy to speak with customers by phone, and able to work as part of a team. Applications may be shared with the employer for direct progression. Feedback may not be provided if an application is unsuccessful.
