Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for the core components of Yapily's platform: the account, identity, and access layers foundational to all products and integrations, including AI agents. Your role involves setting strategic direction, establishing standards, and managing the contracts that enable other teams to build efficiently without redundant foundational work.
Additionally, you will oversee data-driven products such as analytics and reporting, as well as enterprise-level features that support larger customers. Collaboration with engineering, commercial, and marketing teams for pricing, packaging, and market strategy is key. This is a technical product management role requiring systems thinking and credibility among engineers alongside commercial savvy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage strategy, roadmap, and data models for core services such as applications, identity, access services, and the API gateway.
- Collaborate with API governance leads to present well-structured, versioned APIs while maintaining stability for dependent teams and customers.
- Manage and commercialize data-centric products like analytics and reporting APIs throughout their lifecycle.
- Oversee enterprise functionalities including single sign-on, role-based access controls, auditing, usage metrics, entitlements, and support for multiple organizations.
- Expand identity and access frameworks to include AI agents and machine identities with secure, scoped, revocable credentials.
- Provide authorization mechanisms for agent access, implementing OAuth flows and federated access within user consent parameters.
- Lead integration of the platform with business systems (e.g., billing, CRM, compliance) to maintain consistent account data and entitlements throughout the Lead to Cash process.
- Balance and prioritize foundational development amid competing demands from various product teams and customers.
- Partner closely with engineering on development decisions, evaluate build versus buy options, and collaborate with security, privacy, and legal to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work with commercial and marketing teams on product pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies, providing insights on current and upcoming platform capabilities.
- Define and monitor critical platform metrics including adoption, reliability, latency, data integrity, and user satisfaction among internal teams and customers.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years in product management with proven experience in platform, infrastructure, or API products.
- Strong technical foundation capable of leading architectural and API design discussions and evaluating technical trade-offs.
- Systematic thinker with deep understanding of shared services integration across products and scalable design principles.
- Experience managing foundational services such as identity, accounts, permissions, or API gateways including contract and version management for consumer stability.
- Knowledge of multi-tenant architectures and enterprise access models including RBAC/ABAC, SSO, SCIM, OAuth2, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience creating products derived from data such as analytics or reporting APIs.
- Background integrating core systems like billing, CRM, and entitlements while maintaining data consistency.
- Ability to align diverse stakeholders, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Business acumen with understanding of enterprise buyers, working effectively alongside commercial and marketing stakeholders.
- Sound judgment regarding prioritization and build-versus-buy decisions with confidence to decline inappropriate requests.
- Prior experience in regulated industries such as fintech, payments, or banking with sensitivity to data protection obligations.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in open banking, Open Finance, or financial infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in elevating platforms to enterprise scale including implementation of SSO, RBAC, auditing, and service-level agreements.
- Familiarity with API gateway management tools and lifecycle including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Understanding of machine or agent identity with modern authorization patterns like OAuth scopes, on-behalf-of delegation, and MCP authentication.
