About the Role

The Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) seeks a dedicated Program Manager to support its Animal Law Education & Scholarship Program (ALESP) and Transparency & Regulatory Affairs Program (TRAP). This full-time exempt position reports to the Director of Animal Law Education and Scholarship and is based remotely within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Events team to organize the annual Student Animal Law Convention, overseeing registration and event logistics.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases tracking animal law courses, Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapters, and program metrics, supporting annual reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pre-law, psychology, sociology, communication, political science, animal studies, animal science, or related fields; or equivalent with at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in nonprofit, higher education, legal, advocacy, or research settings.
  • Proven experience managing grants, scholarships, fellowships, or competitive educational programs.
  • Event coordination experience including conferences, trainings, and webinars.
  • Strong research skills including literature reviews and public records research.
  • Proficiency in handling and analyzing large datasets and document collections.
  • Knowledge of FOIA requests, government transparency, regulatory agencies, and related workflows.
