About sKids
Since 1996, sKids has been dedicated to providing enriching out-of-school experiences filled with fun and learning for children across New Zealand. Serving over 3,800 children daily at more than 170 schools, sKids creates dynamic environments where kids enjoy activities ranging from messy arts and science experiments to sports and cooking classes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Programme Assistant to contribute to memorable afternoons by supporting children in a variety of exciting and safe activities. This part-time role requires a minimum commitment of 6 hours weekly, with shifts primarily scheduled Monday through Friday afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist Tamariki during diverse engaging and secure activities
- Maintain cleanliness and welcoming conditions of the program spaces
- Collaborate with the Programme Manager to ensure smooth and energetic session delivery
- Identify and communicate any behavioral, wellbeing, or safety concerns promptly to management
Working Hours
- Afternoon shifts from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with a strict requirement for availability starting at 2:30 pm
- Opportunities to work additional hours during school holiday programs between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm

Qualifications and Eligibility
- Legal right to work in New Zealand, including valid visa or citizenship
- Reliable transport and/or vehicle access to reach Newlands sites
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children demonstrated through prior experience such as babysitting, coaching, or volunteering
- Dependability, energy, and a commitment to making each session engaging and meaningful
