Project Accountant

Role overview

CBS Comprehensive Business Services is looking for a meticulous Project Accountant to handle the financial management of multiple projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this position, you will keep project budgets, forecasts, reports, and cost tracking accurate and current so that project leaders and stakeholders can make well-informed decisions.

You will work closely with project teams to review spending, spot variances, reduce financial risk, and help improve project profitability. This role calls for strong project accounting experience, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

• Build and update project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements while following company rules and procedures.
• Track project spending, compare actual costs with budgets, and highlight opportunities for cost control.
• Support project proposals and business cases by supplying financial analysis and relevant data.
• Coordinate with project managers to deliver accurate and timely financial updates, including monthly billing and invoicing.
• Review project financial records regularly, identify mismatches, and carry out corrective steps when needed.
• Assist in audit processes and make sure supporting documentation is complete and compliant.
• Work with different teams to improve financial performance and support stronger project results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in project accounting or a similar finance-focused role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and project financial control.
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate well in a team.
• PMP or an equivalent project management certification is considered an advantage.
