About the Role
This contract opportunity is with Mercor, a company that connects highly skilled creative and technical professionals with top-tier AI research labs. The position is for a Software Engineer expert working remotely at an hourly rate of $40 to $50.
What You'll Do
- Develop MCP servers in Python with FastMCP.
- Connect web and desktop applications to RL Studio.
- Work across APIs, Docker, Linux-based environments, and service setup/configuration.
- Add populate and snapshot hooks to support application state handling.
- Run apps locally and troubleshoot build, runtime, and permission-related issues.
- Confirm that applications satisfy platform checks and deployment standards.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced Python programming ability.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, backend systems, and technical debugging.
- Comfort working with Docker, Linux, and local testing processes.
- Experience handling configuration files and deployment workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking and careful attention to technical detail.
Preferred Background
- Exposure to FastMCP or similar tooling/frameworks.
- Background integrating external applications or developer-facing tools.
- Working knowledge of web applications, databases, and container-based setups.
