Job Overview

We are seeking a driven and skilled Research Assistant to join our Gainesville, GA site, working full-time onsite Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This non-exempt role provides an opportunity to support clinical trial coordinators and site staff through various patient visit procedures while advancing your career in clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clinical research coordinators and site personnel with specified patient visit protocols, which include procedures like phlebotomy, intravenous lines, injections, vital signs measurement, and ECG/EKG testing.
• Accurately document patient assessments and study data in compliance with applicable regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
• Obtain and record informed consents adhering to federal laws and institutional review board (IRB) guidelines.
• Support recruitment initiatives and coordinate patient scheduling to ensure enrollment targets are met.
• Maintain precise source documentation and complete case report forms (CRFs) thoroughly.
• Report any adverse events to supervisors or investigators promptly as required.
• Manage clinical study supplies, laboratory kits, and trial materials efficiently.
• Protect patient confidentiality rigorously and uphold ethical standards and compliance throughout research activities.
• Communicate effectively within the research team, documenting relevant communications related to the study.
• Represent the organization professionally during all interactions with patients, staff, and external partners.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management as needed.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• The role may require flexible working hours to support clinical and leadership schedules.
• Routine use of computers and ability to sit or stand for extended periods are necessary.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have daily access to a vehicle.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
• At least two years of clinical research experience is required; experience in oncology is highly favored.
• Proficiency in clinical skills such as measuring vital signs, performing ECG/EKGs, phlebotomy, and administering injections.
• Experience with electronic source data capture and familiarity with ICH, FDA, and GCP regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with principal investigators, sponsors, and study participants.
• High ethical standards promoting honesty and self-motivation.
• Advanced critical thinking capabilities.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory sample collection, processing, and storage.
• Competency in using computers and Microsoft Office applications.
