Senior Design Draftsman

Overview

The role involves executing, supervising, and coordinating drafting and design services to support engineering, maintenance, and modification activities within Refining Operations plants and equipment. The position demands comprehensive management and upkeep of both electronic and physical documentation, including philosophies, strategies, specifications, and procedures, along with the design and delivery of a robust documentation service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Management of Change (MOC) processing and approvals, preparing As-built drawings, data sheets, and related documentation.
• Ensure drawings maintain high accuracy and quality, adhering to approved standards, specifications, and design requirements.
• Provide guidance on company standards, including applicable numbering systems.
• Assist in reviewing, checking, and commenting on submissions from contractors or vendors in coordination with discipline engineers.
• Coordinate with project engineers to ensure proper completion and handover of project deliverables such as dossiers and drawings.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Strong familiarity with computerized Technical Document Management Systems (TDMS) and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
• Advanced computer skills, including setting up applications with Access and Excel, and proficient use of AutoCAD and MS Project.
• A minimum of 12 years experience in design drafting within a major petrochemical design contracting environment, including at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity within a drawing office.
• Comprehensive understanding of internationally recognized standards and codes of practice relevant to the petrochemical sector.
• Solid knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and piping materials used in oil and gas refining or petrochemical facilities.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
