About the Company
Established in 1973, Nirmal Industrial Controls has been a frontrunner in manufacturing self-actuated pressure control valves and associated process control systems. Serving global sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Pharmaceutical industries, we pride ourselves on delivering customized solutions backed by extensive support and training services.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation for instrumentation designs related to natural gas pressure reduction, gas conditioning, and metering skid systems, including field gauges, transmitters, flow meters, junction box cable schedules, control system documents, and instrument hook-ups.
- Develop designs aligned with client requirements by adhering to relevant instrumentation codes and standards.
- Utilize MS Office tools along with knowledge of ISO 9001 and QHSE standards in daily operations.
- Perform sizing and calculations using software tools such as thermowell, orifice, and control valve sizing applications.
- Understand fundamental concepts of field instrumentation and prepare cable-junction box schedules accordingly.
- Address and document non-conformities promptly for further examination.
- Coordinate with procurement and external vendors to ensure timely preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Assist in product standardization by identifying and cataloging product variations; handle sizing, model selection, and prepare work files for Nirmal-made pressure regulators.
- Generate Requests for Quotations (RFQs), review vendor bids, and approve drawings and documents submitted by suppliers.
- Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and related mechanical documents such as piping GA layouts for detailed instrumentation requirements.
- Support project teams in obtaining approvals for engineering documents.
- Follow and enhance working procedures and instructions related to the integrated management system.
- Resolve production and quality hold issues flagged by production and QA teams.
- Create production orders and product codification within the SAP system.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as needed.
- Attend factory, site, and customer visits for troubleshooting, document approvals, inspections, and problem resolution.
- Possess foundational knowledge of control systems including IO lists, cause-and-effect documentation, PLC architecture, SCADA system selection, flow computer selection, and functional design documents.
- Be aware of instrumentation standards such as ISO, IEC, ATEX, and various AGA standards including AGA3, AGA7, AGA8, AGA9, and AGA10.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with instrumentation engineering standards and protocols.
- Practical experience with field instrumentation and control system engineering involving SCADA, PLC, RTU, and communication protocols.
- Proficient use of MS Office applications and understanding of ISO 9000 and QHSE protocols.
- Knowledge of wiring diagrams, panel diagrams, cabling, termination documents, and sizing/selecting control valves and regulators.
- Basic process engineering skills including valve sizing, line sizing, and meter sizing calculations.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.
- Ability to work autonomously and adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
