Role Overview

The Data Abstractions & Tools team within North manages how users input, organize, and share their data, overseeing file and knowledge base management, agent extension frameworks, and enterprise data synchronization. This role entails complete ownership of the integration pipeline, including adding and maintaining external integrations, supporting fellow engineers, and establishing repeatable processes. Responsibilities also include creating evaluation mechanisms and tests to ensure robust, continuous functionality and enhancing tool descriptions to optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new and existing integrations on the North agentic platform.
• Manage the end-to-end integration pipeline including design, deployment, and ongoing upkeep.
• Support other engineers in adding integrations and help elevate team standards.
• Design and implement evals and testing frameworks ensuring integration reliability and prompt anomaly detection.
• Refine tool descriptions based on feedback and evaluation metrics to boost effectiveness.
• Utilize AI technologies actively in development while ensuring high quality and dependability of delivered solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in delivering production code and working with external API integrations.
• Familiarity with evaluating agentic systems or a solid understanding of evaluation methods including prompt engineering and tool description tuning.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic settings and adjust priorities quickly.
• High initiative and ability to independently drive progress without needing detailed instructions.
• Proven track record of full ownership of features with a commitment to quality over mere delivery.
• Willingness to assist team members and enhance overall engineering success beyond personal contributions.

Work Arrangement

This position offers remote work flexibility with no minimum office attendance required, although candidates should consider their time zone and collaboration needs.

Compensation

• US (California, New York, Washington State): $180,000 to $225,000 annual salary.
• US (Other states): $150,000 to $190,000 annual salary.
• Canada: $215,000 to $270,000 annual salary.
