Role overview
This internship sits within Visa’s early careers program and places you alongside software engineers with varying levels of experience, as well as other scrum team members and consultants. You will be assigned a project that can be completed during your internship period, and you will present the outcome along with a summary of your internship experience at the end.
The role calls for strong technical standards, including not just coding but also collaboration, testing, and documentation. A positive, proactive attitude and the willingness to work across different disciplines are important.
What you will work on
- Build software using .NET, SQL, and related front-end technologies.
- Participate in peer code reviews.
- Follow established coding standards and development guidelines.
- Use source control tools and practices.
- Apply test-driven development methods.
- Create unit and integration tests.
- Learn the domain concepts used in Visa Spend Clarity.
- Produce documentation and share knowledge with teammates.
- Work within an agile scrum environment.
- Help improve the team’s agile processes.
Working arrangement
Visa expects interns to be in the office for at least 3 days each week; the exact schedule will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Program details
The internship is scheduled to run for approximately 11 weeks, from November 2026 to February 2027.
Eligibility and qualifications
Applicants should be university students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, and must have at least 1 year remaining in their degree at the time the internship begins. The expected graduation year is 2027.
Candidates should already be comfortable with at least one programming language or technology, such as Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or Objective-C. Strong teamwork, communication, relationship-building, self-motivation, attention to detail, and an open approach to learning are also important.
