Student Support Specialist

About the Role

Nord Anglia Education seeks to appoint a Student Support Specialist at the newly established Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, an IB World School offering IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. The specialist will provide targeted academic interventions to students identified through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and deliver ESL instruction to multilingual learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement targeted academic interventions for students identified via MTSS.
• Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy and mathematics support through small groups and one-on-one instruction.
• Plan and provide English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons for multilingual learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and apply differentiated teaching strategies and accommodations.
• Use multiple data sources such as MAP Growth and classroom assessments to monitor student progress.
• Develop, execute, and review Student Support Plans (SSPs) jointly with teachers and families.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings, reviews, and collaborative planning.
• Maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, and school leadership regarding student progress and support.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.
• Valid teaching qualification/license recognized by the school.
• Experience supporting diverse learners in inclusive settings.
• Demonstrated ability in literacy and/or mathematics intervention delivery.
• Strongly preferred ESL/EAL teaching experience.
• Familiarity with MTSS/RTI frameworks, differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning, and inclusive education.
• Proficient in utilizing student assessment data to inform instruction and track progress.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities.
