Ab Initio Administrator

Role Overview

This position is for an Ab Initio Administrator based in Hyderabad. The role calls for 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing Ab Initio environments, along with solid exposure to ETL operations, Linux/Unix systems, scripting, production support, and troubleshooting.

Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and maintaining Ab Initio tools across development, testing, and production environments. The role includes administering key Ab Initio components and supporting the overall ETL ecosystem.

• Install, configure, and keep Ab Initio software components running smoothly across different environments.
• Administer Co>Operating System, Enterprise Meta Environment (EME), Conduct>It, GDE, and Continuous Flows.
• Track platform stability, application behavior, and overall system uptime.
• Carry out environment builds, version upgrades, patch application, and routine maintenance.
• Control user permissions, access levels, and security-related settings.
• Support the use of Ab Initio graphs, plans, and ETL pipelines.
• Help developers with deployment, scheduling, and issue resolution.
• Make small graph changes and assist with debugging when needed.
• Review ETL execution and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Work with metadata, datasets, and file-processing elements.

Technical Requirements

The role requires a strong working understanding of Ab Initio architecture, its major components, and development lifecycle concepts. You should also be comfortable with Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, basic SQL, job monitoring, and scheduling tools.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in Ab Initio administration.
• Good knowledge of Ab Initio architecture, components, and ETL lifecycle.
• Practical experience in Linux/Unix administration.
• Strong shell scripting capability.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
• Experience with job monitoring, deployments, and production support.
• Ability to troubleshoot Ab Initio environment and application issues.
• Exposure to graph development and debugging in Ab Initio.
• Experience with Autosys, Control-M, or similar scheduling tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL methods.
