After-School Care Specialist

Role overview

Delta West Academy is seeking an After-School Care Specialist to support its small independent school community in Bridgeland, Calgary, Alberta. The school serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, while the after-school care program is designed for Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.

Program details

The after-school care service usually supports 10 to 15 students and operates from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The selected person will work alongside another After-School Care Specialist to help run the program and maintain a safe, nurturing atmosphere after the school day ends.

What the role involves

Students in the program are given time to complete homework in a supportive setting, along with opportunities to take part in organized activities led by the after-school care team. There may also be occasional involvement in wider school events and activities, including field trips, the Christmas Concert, and Graduation.

Requirements and clearances

The school requires the successful candidate to provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening and to hold valid First Aid certification.
