Application Operations Engineer

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a top IT partner in Saudi Arabia engaged in a significant monitoring initiative for a major government client. The position involves being part of a specialized team responsible for maintaining uninterrupted functioning of crucial business applications through continuous oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously track application uptime, performance metrics, and error occurrences in real time
• Detect and promptly escalate operational incidents as per established escalation protocols
• Analyze system logs and monitoring dashboards to uncover irregular behaviors
• Ensure seamless transition between shifts by preparing thorough and accurate handover documentation
• Collaborate closely with application subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional technical teams as required

Required Technical Expertise

• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, or their equivalents
• Fundamental knowledge of application system design, including web apps, APIs, and database components
• Ability to interpret log files and dashboard alerts effectively
• Familiarity with IT service management and ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management
• Basic comprehension of how applications interact with the underlying IT infrastructure encompassing servers, databases, and network elements

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum of one year’s experience in application monitoring roles
• Adaptability to work in rotational shifts within a 24/7 operational environment
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong communication abilities
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage
