Job description

Role Overview

This is a remote, hourly contractor position for an Architecture & Design Quality Assurance Lead. The role focuses on keeping architecture, interior design, urban design, and built-environment AI training work accurate, consistent, and aligned with project standards. You will review AI-produced content and the work of trainers and QA contributors, then provide detailed written feedback to maintain high quality across the workflow.

The position sits within a fast-scaling AI data services environment that supports major AI companies and foundation-model teams. Your contribution will help improve AI output by ensuring the training data is practical, visually coherent, context-aware, and technically sound.

Please note that there is no active project available immediately for this role. If you are a fit, you may be contacted first when relevant opportunities open up, and you may also gain access to future projects through the expert network.

What You Will Do

  • Review architecture and design items for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the project rubric.
  • Check AI-generated responses covering layouts, concepts, materials, building systems, accessibility, and design logic.
  • Provide clear written feedback and surface repeated issues or critical mistakes.
  • Keep trainers and QA contributors informed about guideline changes, workflow updates, and quality expectations.
  • Answer questions related to spatial reasoning, terminology, sustainability, construction feasibility, and rubric interpretation.
  • Reach out to inactive contributors, encourage reactivation, and track follow-ups when needed.
  • Prepare and maintain project materials such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding documents.
  • Run onboarding and training sessions to explain expectations, review standards, and workflow steps.
  • Make sure reviewers apply the same standards consistently as the project evolves.
  • Flag unsafe, impractical, inaccessible, misleading, or poorly grounded recommendations.
  • Look for recurring quality gaps and suggest process improvements that strengthen QA operations.

Required Background

  • A bachelor’s, master’s, or professional qualification in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Planning, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in architecture, interiors, urban design, design research, construction documentation, teaching, design review, visualization, or similar built-environment work.
  • Strong command of English for following instructions and producing precise written feedback.
  • Good understanding of design principles, spatial planning, circulation, scale, proportion, materiality, accessibility, sustainability, building systems, construction logic, and design communication.
  • Ability to judge architecture and design content against detailed scoring criteria and identify weak reasoning, unrealistic assumptions, unsafe suggestions, or code-insensitive ideas.
  • Comfort with tools and methods such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, BIM, construction drawings, precedent analysis, site analysis, rendering, and design presentations is preferred.
  • Prior experience guiding remote teams of designers, reviewers, annotators, educators, or domain specialists is strongly preferred.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced remote environment with tools like Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, especially for maintaining documentation, FAQs, style guidance, and calibration materials.
  • Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, visual QA, architectural review, or rubric-based review would be a strong advantage.

Selection Process

The hiring process includes an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and a conversation with a recruiter.
