Role Overview
This part-time, remote Assistant and Paralegal position, based in the Greater Phoenix Area, may transition to a full-time role during the fall for candidates who are willing. The role involves assisting attorneys by handling daily administrative and paralegal duties such as preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing case files, and maintaining precise records. Key responsibilities include performing basic legal and factual research, reviewing documents for completeness and consistency, as well as supporting scheduling, correspondence, and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with daily paralegal and administrative tasks.
- Prepare, format, and review legal documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Organize and maintain detailed case files and records.
- Conduct basic legal and factual research and summarize the findings clearly.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing correspondence with clients and external parties.
- Monitor case deadlines and progress to facilitate efficient case management.
- Coordinate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid understanding of legal processes and the ability to support case management effectively.
- Experience in legal document preparation and review, ensuring documents are accurate and compliant.
- Strong communication skills for professional interaction with attorneys, clients, and others involved.
- Ability to conduct and summarize basic legal and factual research.
- Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a comparable legal administrative role.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with office software and legal document management systems.
- Paralegal certification or coursework in paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Commitment to confidentiality, sound judgment, and consistent on-site work in the Greater Phoenix Area when required.
