Associate Manager - Facilities Management

Role overview

The Associate Manager for Facilities Management at MAF Retail’s Head Office in Uganda is responsible for keeping assets in proper working order and ensuring they are maintained regularly according to set standards. This position also helps the Facility Manager plan maintenance, carry out the work, and communicate with the relevant teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation, scheduling, and reporting of upcoming maintenance activities, working closely with store teams and internal stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly.
• Monitor store inspections in accordance with the annual maintenance plan and the agreed contract terms.
• Track maintenance work to confirm that tasks are completed to the required standard and within the planned timeline.
• Escalate contractor-related issues through reports so that performance gaps can be addressed quickly and improved.
• Maintain adequate levels of maintenance consumables and essential spare parts so required items are always available.
• Respond promptly to incidents and take appropriate action during emergencies when needed.
• Prepare and maintain documentation connected to maintenance and equipment activities in line with internal procedures.
• Help submit reports and suggest improvement opportunities whenever required.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 1 year in the retail sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• A proactive mindset along with solid organizational capability.
• Excellent planning skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
