Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and meticulous Business Analyst to join our expanding team at Lakuna Consulting in Metairie, LA. This position involves engagement with a diverse range of client projects focusing on technology deployment, enhancement of business processes, and project assistance. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical capability alongside a cooperative approach and the skill to translate business requirements into actionable solutions.

Primary Duties

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to collect, analyze, and record business requirements.
• Contribute to the creation of business process documents, workflows, and process diagrams to support project objectives.
• Facilitate communication between technical staff and business stakeholders ensuring clear understanding of project needs.
• Examine business and operational data to discover patterns, irregularities, and potential improvements.
• Develop and update reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or equivalent.
• Assist in establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and other performance metrics.
• Deliver data-driven insights to project teams and business stakeholders through presentations.
• Help with data verification, ensuring reporting accuracy, and fulfill on-demand analyses.
• Participate in the design and rollout of technology solutions that address specified business challenges.
• Support project management activities such as planning, progress monitoring, and status reporting.
• Conduct fundamental gap analysis and identify opportunities for enhancing processes.
• Assist with user testing, training, and rollout activities during project implementation.
• Maintain project documentation and help track deliverables and follow-ups.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Business Analyst or comparable role in business, technology, or project support.
• Proven ability to gather and document business requirements and process workflows.
• Understanding of data analysis, reporting, and visualization methods along with business analysis best practices.
• Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills combined with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills both written and oral.
• Ability to work collaboratively within teams and with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in business/project management software like Visio, JIRA, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with BI and analytics platforms such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
• Certifications such as ECBA, CCBA, or PMI-PBA are advantageous though not mandatory.

Additional Information

This role requires travel approximately 40-50% of the time throughout the year.
