Civil Engineer / Project Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking a professional Civil Engineer / Project Coordinator to take charge of managing and delivering civil construction projects within the UAE. The role demands ensuring strict adherence to local regulations, obtaining necessary approvals, maintaining quality benchmarks, adhering to budgets, and ensuring timely project completion.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the comprehensive execution of civil construction projects ranging from residential villas, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, infrastructure projects, and steel structures, from design review to final handover.
• Guarantee that projects conclude within approved timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
• Review, coordinate, and validate Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and other technical submittals specifically for residential villas and large developments.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, developers, and UAE authorities such as Dubai Municipality, DDA, DCD, RTA, ADM, and Trakhees to secure approvals and schedule necessary inspections.
• Develop and regulate project execution strategies, schedules (using Primavera), budget plans, cash flow projections, procurement processes, and resources allocation.
• Supervise site engineers, construction supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to design and quality, covering structural work, architectural finishes, MEP services, and landscaping activities on site.
• Conduct periodic progress and coordination meetings involving clients, consultants, and internal management teams.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations alongside implementing project-specific safety plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Authorize the selection of materials, subcontractors, and suppliers in line with contract terms, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively identify any project risks, technical challenges, or delays and introduce appropriate corrective and mitigating measures promptly.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports covering project progress, costs, and risk evaluations to senior management and clients.
• Handle project documentation, contract variations, claims, and administration in accordance with FIDIC standards.
• Manage project handover activities ensuring delivery of completed projects along with all relevant authority clearances, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and completion certificates for residential villas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least 10 years of extensive experience within the UAE on civil construction projects, including expertise in villa construction, steel structures, and mixed-use developments.
• Holding an Unlimited Construction License is preferred; candidates with a minimum G+6 license will also be considered.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of government and military infrastructure standards is an asset.
• Competency in Primavera P6 software is required.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or an equivalent are favored.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is essential.
