About BGIS and Role Overview
BGIS is a premier provider of comprehensive real estate management services, encompassing facilities management, project oversight, energy and sustainability solutions, workplace consulting, real estate services, and capital planning. We are recruiting a Commissioning Agent based in Ireland or the Netherlands, primarily performing work remotely but requiring travel to client sites for various engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough design reviews for systems under commission.
- Develop, manage, and document startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on equipment installations.
- Observe construction activities and formulate functional test plans.
- Execute comprehensive tests on diverse electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal procedures.
- Support training efforts for plant operation and maintenance teams.
- Serve as liaison between vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues and facilitate testing.
- Analyze collected data and produce detailed technical reports.
- Maintain clear communication lines with clients, contractors, and project collaborators.
- Collaborate on managing small to medium-scale projects ensuring technical quality, budget compliance, and scheduled delivery.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- At least seven years of professional experience in electrical power distribution, mechanical systems, or related fields.
- Educational background equivalent to an Associate's degree, military training, or similar professional experience.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve construction and operational challenges effectively.
- Strong organizational skills complemented by excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
- Capability to operate efficiently in high-pressure environments, handling multiple tasks and meeting strict timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in guiding and working collaboratively with colleagues.
- Familiarity with building codes and standards prevalent in the construction sector.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid passport.
- Demonstrated comprehensive competence as a commissioning engineer, with a minimum of five years in commissioning roles including performance contracting.
- Familiarity with commissioning frameworks such as BCA, PECI, and/or ASHRAE.
- Preferred experience in hospital, biotechnology, data center, and energy analysis projects.
- Willingness and availability to travel extensively, approximately 75% of the time nationwide and internationally.
- Ability to provide personal transportation for work-related travel, with reimbursement provided.
Additional Information
Position is predominantly remote; however, travel to client locations for trainings, meetings, and events is required.
