Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will be the company’s representative on the road, visiting customers at their homes. This position involves much more than just driving; it’s about providing outstanding service, assisting customers with a friendly attitude, and managing diverse situations throughout your shift. The role is physically engaging and variegated, with each day presenting new challenges. While you will operate independently during deliveries, support from managers and teammates at the base is readily available whenever needed.

Working Hours

• Sunday to Saturday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and working area to ensure customers receive their shopping in excellent condition.
• Load the van securely and perform checks to confirm vehicle safety and readiness for delivery.
• Communicate courteously with customers about any changes to their orders, handle substitutions or products nearing expiration, offering refunds to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle products carefully, maintaining quality and trust by treating every order as your own.
• Deliver orders within designated time slots, provide warm and authentic service at customers’ doorsteps, ensuring they feel valued and well cared for.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to build positive relationships with coworkers to foster team spirit and deliver excellent customer service.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Adaptability to swiftly respond to changes in customer needs and conditions while on delivery routes and at the store.
