Role Overview
As a member of the Risk Team, which acts as the final safeguard against fraud and financial crimes, you will help secure millions of merchants and users by detecting and preventing fraudulent activities while ensuring legitimate transactions proceed smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain fraud detection mechanisms including rules, models, automated alerts, and monitoring systems.
- Analyze transaction data to uncover hidden fraud patterns and translate insights into actionable decisions or controls.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deploy real-time risk management solutions that operate effectively in production.
- Engage with legal, compliance, and customer support departments for complex investigations.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in fraud detection.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL with the ability to write robust queries efficiently and under pressure.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Analytical thinker with a strong preference for making definitive conclusions rather than only hypothesizing.
- Comfortable making informed decisions with incomplete data and accountable for those outcomes.
- Fluency in Portuguese and proficient English reading skills to handle diverse documentation.
- A continuous curiosity and drive to explore beyond conventional working hours.
