Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk for a remote contract position based in California. The initial contract duration is 6 to 12 months, with potential for extension or permanent placement. The selected candidate will primarily operate data entry equipment to accurately verify and input data. This is a full-time role, typically Monday to Friday with a 35-hour work week and flexible hours. Note that the candidate must visit the office once to collect necessary equipment.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Standard hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch, or alternatively 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM can be arranged
- Total 35 hours weekly
Key Responsibilities
- Review various source documents such as canceled checks, sales reports, or bills to input data into designated fields via keyboard or scanning devices
- Organize, verify, and ensure the accuracy of information before data entry
- Identify and correct any errors in data or escalate issues to supervisors when necessary
- Conduct data verification by comparing entries with source documents or re-entering data to detect faults
- Maintain meticulous logs detailing daily activities and completed tasks
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities combined with high attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities
- Proficient in the accurate documentation and recording of customer or client information
- Prior experience with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
- May be required to pass a speed and accuracy data entry test
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- At least 8 to 10 years of related data entry experience

- Hourly wage ranging from 18 to 20 USD depending on location, skill set, education, experience, and other qualifications
