Role Overview

The organization is looking for a Data Modeler to support enterprise data design and modeling work in an onsite contract role based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate should bring a solid SQL background and a strong foundation in data engineering concepts, including medallion architecture and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs). Practical experience with at least one cloud environment such as Azure, GCP, or AWS is expected. The role also calls for a deep understanding of both logical and physical data modeling, beyond standard star schema design, along with familiarity with industry modeling concepts such as Party, Event, Location, Classification, Resource Item, and similar supertype structures.

Technical Experience

Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or SQL Developer Data Modeler is required. The candidate should also have exposure to ETL development, data pipeline implementation, cloud platforms, and database administration or management. Additional advantage will be given to those who have worked with canonical or industry reference models, such as IBM IIW-style supertypes, and have mapped many varied source systems into a unified enterprise model.

Soft Skills

Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving ability, excellent communication, and effective stakeholder management. The role suits someone comfortable in a fast-moving environment who works well with teams and takes a practical, solution-focused approach.
