Role Overview
As an Operations Data Scientist at FINN, you will lead the enhancement and scalability of the company's operational framework by harnessing sophisticated forecasting and optimization methodologies. Your mission will be to identify operational patterns, validate strategic outcomes, and provide actionable insights to optimize capacity and resource management, ultimately driving the operational success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed analyses on operational data to identify trends in capacity and resource use, delivering actionable recommendations for enhancing efficiency.
- Develop and test innovative operational strategies through proof-of-concept projects, measuring their effect on key performance indicators.
- Create, maintain, and improve advanced forecasting and optimization models leveraging machine learning and operations research techniques to support scalable operations.
- Contribute to refining operational strategies, ensuring alignment with business growth goals and operational objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data, technology, and operations stakeholders to align projects with business priorities.
Candidate Profile
- A master's degree in a related field such as Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics; a PhD is advantageous.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in operations-intensive sectors like logistics, supply chain, mobility, or e-commerce fulfillment.
- Strong expertise in data analysis, time-series forecasting, statistical modeling, and development of optimization models from the ground up.
- Experience incorporating AI-driven tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) in daily analytical workflows for coding, data exploration, and project delivery.
- Proficiency in agentic development along with strong command of SQL, Python, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience implementing end-to-end capacity planning, resource allocation, or logistics optimization solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Ability to dissect complex operational challenges and formulate data-driven solutions.
- Adaptability to fast-evolving work environments and dynamic priorities typical of operational roles.
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.

Compensation
The annual gross salary for this position ranges from €69,000 to €80,000, supplemented by virtual company shares under the Virtual Stock Option Plan. Your final placement within this range will reflect your experience and expertise, consistent with current market conditions.
