Design Project Manager

Overview

Dar Al Riyadh is seeking a skilled Design Project Manager with extensive experience leading the design and execution of large, multidisciplinary projects. This role involves handling the full design lifecycle to ensure timely, budget-compliant project completion that meets client expectations and adheres to both international standards and company quality protocols. It requires robust technical leadership, proficient stakeholder communication, and coordination across various engineering specialties.

Key Duties

• Lead the end-to-end design delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects from concept design through detailed construction documentation phases.
• Prepare and update project execution plans, design schedules, manpower allocation, and budget monitoring.
• Coordinate integration among Architectural, Structural, MEP, Infrastructure, Landscape, BIM, and specialty divisions to guarantee cohesive design outcomes.
• Serve as the main liaison for clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal teams.
• Track project milestones, identify potential design risks, and execute mitigation plans.
• Ensure adherence to local codes, international design standards, and client project requirements.
• Organize regular design coordination sessions and technical reviews to maintain project alignment.
• Review design outputs to confirm quality, constructability, and commercial viability.
• Manage modifications in project scope and collaborate with commercial teams to address contractual effects.
• Assist with proposals, budgeting, and resource allocation for upcoming projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to project staff fostering teamwork, innovation, and continuous development.
• Facilitate effective engagement with BIM and Digital Engineering teams throughout all project stages.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related fields.
• Advanced credentials such as a Master’s degree or PMP certification are advantageous.
• Professional licensing is preferred.
• Between 12 to 15 years in engineering consultancy or design-related environments.
• Minimum of 5 years in a project management or design leadership capacity.
• Experienced with large-scale, mixed-use developments including commercial, hospitality, healthcare, aviation, infrastructure, government, or mega projects.
• Familiarity with projects in the GCC, especially Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in design management strategies and implementation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international building codes and Saudi regulations.
• Proficient in project planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of BIM processes and Common Data Environments.
• Competent with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong commercial insight and contract management familiarity.
