Job description

Role Overview

Join our pharmacy team as a Dispenser at our Cottingham location, playing a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy services within the store.

Key Duties

  • Accurately dispensing prescriptions and ensuring the correct and safe supply of medications, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and managing prescription collections.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals in-store to aid in the management and provision of pharmacy services.
  • Offering patients advice related to medication, helping them make informed decisions, and directing queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safety and legal compliance in dispensing practices.
  • Staying informed about new innovations and operational processes within the store.
  • Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions effectively to improve adherence and decrease waste.

Working Environment and Development

Engage with evolving in-store technologies designed to enhance dispensing methods, improving patient safety and freeing up time for patient interaction. Ongoing training will be provided to enhance healthcare expertise, with potential career pathways including Pharmacy Technician training or store leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent), or be in the process of MPharm qualification with at least one year completed.
  • Have valid UK right to work; note this role does not offer Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.

Beneficial Experience

Prior experience in community pharmacy is advantageous.
