About the Company

Position Summary
The role involves collaborating closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Operations Manager to assist with the repair and maintenance of all operational systems at the Moose Creek compost facility, ensuring optimal performance of the plant.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Apply grease and lubricants, and replenish fluids in equipment each day.
- Operate machinery such as tractors using controls including steering wheels, levers, buttons, and pedals at the assigned site.
- Serve as a substitute operator when required due to absence of crew members.
- Clean debris from heavy equipment tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more frequently if necessary.
- Communicate with team members and offices through two-way radios regarding workflow and priorities.
- Comply fully with all relevant federal, provincial/state, and local regulations as well as company policies and supervisor directives.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility grounds.
- Participate in safety meetings and branch meetings.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment as specified.
- Adherence to safety protocols outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, applicable industrial regulations, and health and safety policies at federal, provincial and municipal levels.
- Immediate reporting of accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards to supervisors.
