Overview

The Duty Manager will oversee and coordinate the maintenance of movement areas and facilitate VVIP movements in collaboration with PMO and SPG. They will also manage the issuance of Work Permits in compliance with regulatory standards at DIAL and GVIAL to ensure efficient airside operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise upkeep of movement areas and maintain Foreign Object Debris (FOD) free procedures following ICAO and DGCA guidelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor Service Level Agreements ensuring timely contract renewals and handling grievances effectively.
  • Organize and act upon meetings related to VVIP movements coordinating with relevant authorities.
  • Lead and develop a team, addressing employee grievances and fostering discipline and engagement.
  • Oversee the issuance of Work Permits at IGI airside, ensuring discrepancy resolution and compliance.
  • Initiate and implement improvement ideas and continuous improvement programs (Kaizen, CIP) to enhance service activities.

Interactions and Financial Scope

  • Engage with external parties including Ground Handling Agents, Airlines, Air Traffic Control, vendors, DGCA, PMO, SPG, Ministry of External Affairs, Delhi Police, and Indian Air Force.
  • Coordinate internally with departments such as Procurement, Finance, Environment, Commercial, APOC, and ARFF within GVIAL.
  • Responsible for operating expenditures of 3.28 crore and capital expenditures of 1.5 crore.
  • Manage a core team of 7 members and oversee a secondary workforce of roughly 120 staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in any discipline; aviation management qualifications considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ICAO annexures, ACI, relevant IATA manuals, and certifications such as DGR, L&T, World Tracer, Airport Planner, Path Planner is beneficial.
  • Understanding of airline and airport operations, statutory regulations including labor and industrial laws, AAI Act, aviation and customs rules, and basic Indian Penal Code.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in airlines, hospitality, or facility management sectors.
