About the Role
We are seeking an electrical engineering specialist to support the training and refinement of advanced AI systems. In this role, your technical expertise will help shape how models solve complex engineering tasks across areas such as circuit analysis, signal processing, and power systems.
This is a remote, flexible contract opportunity designed for professionals who want to contribute on their own schedule to frontier AI research.
Role Details
- Organization: Alignerr
- Engagement type: Hourly contract
- Work mode: Remote
- Weekly commitment: 10 to 40 hours
What You’ll Be Doing
- Create difficult electrical engineering problems spanning topics such as circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, embedded systems, and related areas to thoroughly evaluate AI performance.
- Develop benchmark-quality solutions with transparent, step-by-step technical explanations that can be used as reference answers for model training.
- Review AI-produced material, including code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical derivations, to verify technical correctness, safety, and alignment with engineering standards such as IEEE and NEC.
- Strengthen model reasoning by spotting logic flaws and giving structured expert feedback that improves how the system approaches engineering work.
- Record common failure patterns in AI responses so research teams can improve model reliability at a foundational level.
Candidate Profile
- You should hold, or be actively pursuing, a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- You need strong grounding in at least one major area such as VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or a similar specialization.
- You must be able to explain complex technical ideas clearly and precisely in writing.
- You should be meticulous when checking equations, circuit logic, and engineering documents.
- You need to be self-directed and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous setup.
- Previous experience in AI is not required.
Preferred Background
- Prior exposure to data annotation, technical writing, or quality review work.
- Familiarity with simulation environments such as SPICE or MATLAB.
- Experience working across multiple electrical engineering subfields.
Why Consider This Role
- Contribute to advanced AI projects alongside leading research teams.
- Enjoy a fully remote setup with flexible working hours.
- Benefit from freelance-style independence while working on meaningful, high-impact assignments.
- Gain uncommon insight into how large language models are trained.
- There may be opportunities for ongoing work and contract renewal.
