Electrical Technician

Job Overview

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on electrical systems and equipment within industrial plants, ensuring operational reliability and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on various electrical devices and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), switchgear, transformers, and associated power distribution systems operating at low and medium voltage levels.
• Inspect, test, and sustain electrical panels, circuit breakers, relays, and control circuits in optimal working condition.
• Contribute to plant start-up, shutdown, and commissioning operations effectively.
• Continuously monitor the electrical performance of the plant and proactively detect potential faults.
• Interpret and work with electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols and permit-to-work systems.
• Collaborate closely with operations, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to reduce equipment downtime.
• Document maintenance activities thoroughly and manage maintenance reports and spare parts inventory accurately.
• Provide support for emergency breakdown maintenance, including shift-based responses.

Qualification & Experience

• Possess a Diploma, ITI certificate, or a technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance settings; experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination plants, oil and gas, or related industrial sectors is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA systems, Variable Frequency Drives, MCCs, LV/MV electrical networks, and applicable electrical safety standards.
