Overview
We are seeking a skilled Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to spearhead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within extensive Infrastructure and Earthworks projects. This role involves managing environmental plans, ensuring regulatory adherence, overseeing emissions and waste controls, and incorporating sustainable construction techniques into major civil operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and supervise the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and sustainability frameworks tailored for earthworks and infrastructure activities.
- Perform detailed environmental risk assessments, conduct site inspections, and carry out audits covering areas such as dust control, soil erosion, noise, vibration, and hazardous material handling.
- Manage on-site waste disposal, recycling programs, and promote efficient use of resources.
- Ensure adherence to environmental protection regulations, national standards, and project-specific sustainability goals, including certifications like LEED, Mostadam, or CEEQUAL.
- Develop and submit environmental and incident reports, along with compliance documentation, to clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Preferred certifications include ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, LEED Green Associate or LEED AP, Mostadam Accredited Professional, with CEEQUAL Assessor or IEMA Membership considered advantageous.
- Hold NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or Certificate.
- Bring at least 4 to 6 years of experience as an Environmental or Sustainability Engineer in civil infrastructure, site preparation, or earthworks projects.
- Strong knowledge of local environmental legislation, waste management practices, dust and erosion control, and sustainable construction methods is essential.
