Equity Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Equity Analyst to join a dedicated team managing a multi-billion dollar mid-cap equity fund. The team follows a long-only investment approach focused on generating superior returns through long-term investments in firms with strong cash flows, promising reinvestment opportunities, and aligned leadership. This strategy involves maintaining a concentrated portfolio with low turnover. Analysts cover multiple sectors, requiring a deep understanding of diverse business models and industry dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models incorporating proprietary forecasts and valuation criteria for screening investment opportunities.
• Perform fundamental analysis of company and sector performance to provide actionable investment insights.
• Engage directly with company management, consultants, sector analysts, and industry experts to gather intelligence.
• Compose comprehensive research reports on current and potential portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to compile and update data for internal and external presentations.

Candidate Qualifications

Qualified applicants should demonstrate intellectual curiosity, strong technical proficiency, initiative, and the ability to utilize diverse primary and secondary data sources to uncover investment prospects.

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research or a closely related field.
• Excellent skills in quantitative analysis, as well as clear verbal and written communication.
• Proven capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently, work autonomously, and coordinate effectively within teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Track record of successful investing.
• MBA degree and/or CFA certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $210,000. In addition, the role may participate in incentive compensation programs.
